Because

If you are reading this article don’t miss the comments.

Life is not fair. It never was, and probably never will be. There is no universal regulatory body to make sure that the just happens. We incorrectly confuse God with Life. He/She (I prefer “It”) is not this life or the force driving it. If it were so, would It let innocents suffer. No, It won’t. And this isn’t some angry-god-teaching-a-lesson or adam-eve-paying-for-eating-the-apple stuff either. If there is some force in this world, It isn’t to manifest Itself through our lives. It cannot, and even if It can, It will not control our world. Hence all the wrong things we see happening with us and around us cannot be attributed to God’s negligence or insensitivity because It has no say in this.

But bad happens, as frequently as good. Often people deserving a reward, at best get nothing and at worst get punished instead. Why? There is no answer, in fact the question itself is invalid. How can there ever be a justification to the misery and pain of an angel? The problem is we think there is some mechanism working behind all this. Some algorithm, some plan, some script governs what happens. And assuming a system in place, we expect it to deliver justice.

And then we think that why is that system unfair? Why did I get pain when I helped someone? Why did that person get what he didn’t deserve? We say the mechanism is flawed, that it favors the evil. The truth is there is no mechanism. It is a jungle. It’s an ungoverned unplanned unjust setup of chaos, where nothing happens “because”. Things just happen. No reason, no logic. So don’t ask “Why?” or even worse “Why me?”. I am not trying to prove the non-existence of God or the futility of faith. That is something for you to decide. I am just trying to warn you from holding your goodness as your reason and excuse to expect justice and fairness.

A Painted Wall

Picasa has this amazing feature that helps you build Collage out of your pictures. Collect the pictures in a picasa folder, hit the create collage button and there you are. There are various styles that can be chosen and customized. The tool can be very frustrating if you are bent on getting that perfect arrangement of pictures.. right location, perfect size.. no its absolutely random. But what the hack, that is the fun. Check what I made using it:

The Painted Wall

We’ll reach the stars before midnight.

This is an excerpt from the site of Appolo Alliance.. indeed thought provoking.
No man can fully grasp how far and how fast we have come, but condense, if you will, the 50,000 years of man’s recorded history in a time span of but a half-century. Stated in these terms, we know very little about the first 40 years, except at the end of them advanced man had learned to use the skins of animals to cover them. Then about 10 years ago, under this standard, man emerged from his caves to construct other kinds of shelter. Only five years ago man learned to write and use a cart with wheels. Christianity began less than two years ago. The printing press came this year, and then less than two months ago, during this whole 50-year span of human history, the steam engine provided a new source of power.
Newton explored the meaning of gravity. Last month electric lights and telephones and automobiles and airplanes became available. Only last week did we develop penicillin and television and nuclear power, and now if America’s new spacecraft succeeds in reaching Venus, we will have literally reached the stars before midnight tonight.
This is a breathtaking pace, and such a pace cannot help but create new ills as it dispels old, new ignorance, new problems, new dangers. Surely the opening vistas of space promise high costs and hardships, as well as high reward.

The Savior Returns

How dare those jehadis entered our coutry and made us laugh, disguised as stand-up comedians? Even worse, they sung songs and acted in our movies… But don’t you worry, our savior MNS is teaching them all a lesson. They are being beaten up and threatened and thrown out of our land. Pestering bunch of insurgents.

MUMBAI: Pakistani stand-up comedian Shakeel Siddiqui was driven out of a television set at Mohan Studios in Andheri on Wednesday by members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and asked to leave the country immediately… Last week, MNS had burnt CDs of Pakistani performers and had forced stores to withdraw books by Pakistani authors.

After few months of lull our saviors are back. They are saving us from Pakistani Agents who have the impunity of entertaining us in our own country. How dare those jehadis entered our country and made us laugh, disguised as stand-up comedians? Even worse, they sung songs and acted in our movies. Look what they have done, their songs have become hits all over the country. Our people are getting lost in their melody. And then some of them used the weapon of words, published Pakistani text on the Indian soil. But don’t you worry, our saviors are teaching them all a lesson. They are being beaten up and threatened and thrown out of our land. Pestering bunch of insurgents. They forgot we have MNS to save our souls.

So what if Mr. MNS and his hooligans were nowhere to be seen when Pakistani Insurgents entered our Mumbai and kept it captive for a couple of days. Pakistanis hurling hand grenades at us are tolerable but we should not accept Pakistanis giving us smiles. Its OK if they kill our innocent men and women but they should not share their art and culture with us. Our savior let them get away after committing heinous acts of terrorism. So what, these are small things, to be forgiven and forgotten. We should instead focus on the real issues and look only where Mr. MNS wants us to. Lets kill them all!!
